My Homemade Family

Ellie Faye Watts came to me November 21, 2008. She will be 1 yr old on August 31. We had a good life. It was boring at times - but she is one crazy kitten. Seriously. Climbs walls. But loves to be around me at all times and sleeps at the top of my pillow. She claws at my fingers/hands from up under my pillow when its time to wake up (I have the scratches/scars to prove it.)

When Mother passed away on November 26, she was a real distraction from the pains of life... death. She went with me to Nashville for December and by the end started to get used to the other cats and knew to stay upstairs away from Kaiser (my dad's 110 lb German Shephard.)

I came home and it just wasn't enough. Not that Ellie wasn't enough - but I needed s'one/s'thing to come home to - to need me. As my dad says - "Dogs have owners, Cats have slaves." I wouldn't say Ellie is THAT bad, but really, as a cat - she doesn't NEED me. And I can't take her out for walks & to mingle with other pets.

So, on January 17, 2008, our family was completed with Bella Blue Watts. Her birthday is November 24. Which means she was being born about the time I was getting Ellie! The Humane Society & the vet say she's part Border Collie & some sort of "sporting" dog b/c of her spots on her face - I'm telling myself she's part English Springer :-)

So now the excitement begins. The girls get along well. Bella cries when Ellie & I aren't both in the room with her. We're working really hard on potty training. She stays in her crate while I'm at work and some nights when I don't trust her....As I've tried the whole sleeping with me thing a few times - a few of those times have been lucky and a few of those times have left little yellow stains on my comforter/blanket...

We've already been to the ER Vet - for what luckily wasn't PARVO and the regular vet a few times for shots and such.

So in the meantime - watch for more *exciting* updates. But for now, here's some pics.

Just a note to say...

I don't think my blog - in it's birth - would be complete without a note to say:

I MISS YOU MORE THAN I CAN EXPLAIN & IT HURTS MORE THAN ANY PHYSICAL PAIN I COULD EVER EXPERIENCE.

I love you Mother & Granddaddy.

Who's Afraid of Ave Maria

...or was it just Kari's singing...??

My Namesake

I have THE most perfect nephew in THE WHOLE WIDE WORLD.

He's pretty much advanced in everything and has slept thru the night since... 6 weeks?

He's really good at taking his own pic.

He'll be 1 May 9 and already has 7 teeth.

He has the most infectious laugh ever.

He smiles more than any baby I've ever seen.

He can & will eat anything.

He's not allowed to watch scary tv shows.

He has Shiloh Jolie-Pitt lips.

Basically, he's one cool kid.

The Epitome of Hotness

One day, my true love, one day...

Aging Siblings

So looking thru pics to add to this, I found mulitple pics of my siblings and myself ranging from 14 yrs ago to just this summer... figured I'd share the progression.

This was taken at my Aunt/Uncle's house probably around 1995. Nice socks with the Teva's Jesse! :-)
This was taken for my High School Football Program. Mom had the uniforms made for the girls, Jesse was in his Middle School Football uniform, Me in my Cheerleading uniform. Fun times. Probably taken around the same time as the previous pic, but at least in this one, we're matching.

This one was for the family Christmas Card (first in how many years...?? If ever?) of 2007. The spouses are in this one -- Jesse's wife Kristy & Kari's husband (& baby daddy) Cody. :-)

And last but not least, is this pic from the summer of '08. At the Birmingham Zoo. During a heat advisory. I hate the spouses aren't in this pic - there's one floating out there - but I couldn't find it. The baby in my lap is my most favorite nephew of all - Kaleb "Brooks" Russell. (Kari's son)

Funny how we've all grown up. It seemed to have happened so fast. I was probably 16, maybe 17 in the first picture, and here I am now, almost 30. My how time flies.

The Alpha

This is my first attempt at blogging. The company I work for is starting a blog and most people I know have a blog, so I figured I might as well jump on that band wagon.

I don't really know what I'm going to be putting on this blog... seeing as how I'm not a big writer, nor do I really enjoy writing. So it might just be thoughts. Or pics of my pets. Or pics of my friends. Or just lists of my favorite things. I don't know. I guess what comes to me at the time.

I hope to be a good "blogger" and blog often. We'll see.

This is just going to be ME. As I am now, after (almost) 30 years of life.

Maybe I'll make my goal for my 30th yr of life to BLOG... ??
